At Forster Woods, we plan a variety of social, recreational and educational programs to meet the individual needs and interests of each participant. Programs are designed to provide mental, physical and social stimulation. Activities are modified and adapted to meet the special needs of people with impaired memory, vision, hearing and mobility.
Various word and trivia games, visual matching tasks, and other sensory stimulating activities help to give our participants a mental workout. Exercise is used to improve mobility and range of motion, as well as to retain and build muscle strength. Discussion, reminiscing, pet therapy, sing-a-longs, holiday parties, and other games and activities provide participants opportunities for socialization.
Our activities are provided on a monthly calendar. It is the goal of the program to keep our participants engaged in meaningful interactions throughout the day. Individuals who may not be interested in our group programs are provided with alternate activities of choice. Below is our daily calendar under the heading “What’s Happening?”.
